Toyota Material Handling has signed a new long-term contract with Prologis for an additional 18.000 square meters Warehouse and 700 square meters office space in Willebroek DC1 for the import and set-up of forklifts and spare parts. With this expansion the total facility covers 36.000 square meters. Toyota Material Handling, partner for Prologis Essentials Marketplace, will significantly expand its logistic capacity at this strategic site.
Strategic base
Directly located on the Antwerp-Brussels Sea canal, connecting the port of Antwerp with the city of Brussels and all industrial parks in between, the Prologis Park Willebroek DC1 benefits from excellent connections. “At Prologis we go beyond the roof and four walls, we are committed to meet the operational needs of our customers. Toyota Material Handling is our client but is also a structural partner of procurement platform Prologis Essentials Marketplace” explains Marijn van den Heuvel, Director Capital Deployment & Leasing at Prologis.
Additional 19 000 square meters
This expansion, which is more than double the currently leased building, will be used by Toyota Material Handling to import and set-up forklifts and the supply of spare parts. The building itself is future proof, equipped with Prologis’ smart and cost-effective LED warehouse lighting, with movement and daylight controls. “The occupation of Prologis Park Willebroek DC1 is an important milestone in the efficiency of our business. Thanks to the customer focus of our partner, we will not only considerably expand our logistics capacity, but will also be able to move into additional constructed offices,” concludes Luc Hermans from Toyota Material Handling.
