AMSTERDAM (4 October 2017) – Prologis, Inc., the global leader in logistics real estate, today signed at the EXPO Real in Munich a partnership agreement with the municipality of Waalwijk for the development of a new logistics park at Industrial Park Haven 8.
Growth Portfolio
Prologis currently owns a 60,000 square meter facility in Waalwijk, and this new partnership will allow Prologis to develop another 150,000 square meters of logistics space in various phases. With the new development, Prologis is able to further accommodate the strong demand at this location for both national and international customers. The Waalwijk region is one of the fastest-growing logistics markets in the Netherlands due to its convenient access to A-59, barge terminals, and its vicinity to key hubs in Antwerp and Rotterdam.
Long Term Partnership
“As a developer of industrial real estate, we focus on long-term relationships. We are proud we can now offer our customers more flexibility to expand their logistics capacity in the Waalwijk region”, said Bram Verhoeven, country manager Prologis Benelux.
Alderman of the municipality of Waalwijk Mr. Ronald Bakker: “We are a logistics hot spot, and our focus is on the longer term. We want to attract business partners with a similar scope. Prologis is such a partner, and we are therefore proud to sign this agreement in order to develop the area to mutual benefit”.
Prologis is one of the leading providers of logistics real estate in the Benelux region with approximately 2 million square meters of logistics and distribution space as of June 30, 2017.
