AMSTERDAM (June 8, 2017) - Prologis, Inc., the global leader in logistics real estate, announced today that it is developing a distribution center covering 40,000 square meters for XPO Logistics in Eindhoven.
Following the completion of 30,000 square meters in 2016, the second construction phase at the Acht industrial area will start this June. The building will be delivered and put into service by mid-2018.
Prologis and XPO Logistics have an established long-term relationship. The global partnership allows Prologis to provide efficient and strategic support for the ongoing growth of XPO Logistics. As a supplier of advanced supply chain services, XPO Logistics uses state-of-the-art buildings completely tailored to its needs. The success of this collaboration is underlined by this expansion of 40,000 square meters.
The excellent location of the new distribution center, near the A2 ring road, Eindhoven Airport and the Belgian border, means it can be used for local, regional and international clients from a variety of sectors. Due to economic growth and the flourishing logistics sector, Prologis is seeing rising demand for distribution centers in this region.
"With this expansion, the capacity of XPO Logistics in the GDC-Noord industrial area in Acht will more than double," says Bram Verhoeven, country manager, Prologis Benelux. "We are proud of our partnership and the fact that we can support the impressive growth of XPO Logistics in this way. Due to our good land holding in a popular location, we can accommodate future growth and even offer the opportunity to expand by a further 90,000 square meters."
Prologis is one of the leading providers of logistics real estate in the Benelux, with approximately 2 million square meters of logistics and distribution space as of March 31, 2017.
