Prologis signed a lease agreement with XPO for Prologis Park Eindhoven DC4, a logistics facility of around 65,000 square meters, of which XPO will lease 40,000 square meters. The long term leasing period will start as of December 15th, 2020.

With this new lease agreement XPO has extended their long term partnership with Prologis. Over the last few years XPO already leased 70,000 square meters at Prologis Park Eindhoven DC2. The quality of the new Eindhoven DC4 facility and the fact that XPO can increase the use of the premises with another 25,000 square meters were key for XPO to expand at Prologis Park Eindhoven. For this agreement Prologis was advised by JLL, Cushman & Wakefield and Clifford Chance. The property´s construction was done together with Van der Heijden bouw en ontwikkeling.

Sustainable architecture and WELL Standard
Eindhoven DC4 was recently rewarded with a BREEAM Outstanding Design certificate. The BREEAM assessment method is used to measure and certify the sustainability of buildings. Prologis aims to integrate sustainability into the design, implementation and operation of its buildings. This integrated philosophy was also applied to the building of Prologis Park Eindhoven DC4.

Not only the BREEAM Outstanding Design certificate makes the DC4 premises unique. Sander Breugelmans, Regional Head Northern Europe of Prologis, explains: “We are very proud of our sustainability efforts because Eindhoven DC4 was also built according to the WELL Building Standard. This standard focuses on the health and well-being of people in buildings, which has become a key aspect for our customers.”

Building according to the WELL Building Standard has been Prologis’ focus for quite some time, and it was in 2019 that Prologis achieved the WELL Certified™ Gold for its DC5 logistics facility in Tilburg, the Netherlands. This marked the first time that the International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI™) issued a Gold-level certification at a fully fitted logistics project.
